August 12th 2009: wine tasting of SAQ wines at Villány

Tony Kez and Diane Claveau arrange a wine tasting at Vylyan Vineyards and Winery of the 8 best seller wines from the SAQ in Quebec.

Presenting SAQ Wines at Vylyan Vineyards

We brought 8 different bottles of wine from the SAQ. These wines were from different countries that are consumed in Quebec. The wine tasting was arranged to show wineries what kind of wines Quebecers drink and what they pay for these wines at the SAQ. The wine makers were not too impressed with the wines. We must say that we learnt alot and that the major conclusion was that Hungarian wines of the same price category are of much better quality and much tastier.

Hungarian vineyards are much smaller on average than vineyards from say California, Chile, Aregentina or Australia. The wine makers place alot of pride in the wines they produce and they are not mass produced. We urge people to come to Hungary and see for themselves and try the delicous wines that Hungarian vineyards are producing.
