April 6th, 2014: Hungarian Parliamentary election 2014

 The Hungarian Parliamentary elections are historical in the sense that they are the first elections under the new constitution passed in 2012.

Today, there are now only 199 parliament seats, reduced from 386. FIDESZ (Hungarian Civic Movemnet) - KDNP (Christian Democratic People's Party) won 133 seats, 66.8% of the vote and there is only one round of voting.

Not only were the number of elected officials decreased but they are only allowed to fulfill a parliamentary position and no other position. Before for example you could be a Mayor and Member of Parliament. This development is historical and shows the government is trying to decrease corruption. This will definitely make for a more efficient government
